Of all the foolish things posted online by prominent people last week, perhaps the most foolish came from the veteran far-right journalist and agitator Dinesh D’Souza.
Thank you. So clear and in a real sense so obvious that it is shocking you need to spell it out. But one fears far right activists are too wedded to their goal of indoctrinating the masses for their own nefarous ends that they are in no way open to evidence based logical argument.
Good piece. I saw D’ Sousa in a dog ‘n’ pony show with Stanley Fish at Alabama c. 1990. Like “Professional” Wrestling, it was a phony but profitable shtick. All performance and little substance.

So good!
David: Excellent piece! Did you see the piece on “Anti-Intellectualism in American Life” in the Aug. 20 NYT book review? https://www.nytimes.com/2025/08/20/books/review/the-american-university-is-in-crisis-not-for-the-first-time.html?unlocked_article_code=1.mE8.nAJr.MuPf4RHDfIQM&smid=nytcore-ios-share&referringSource=articleShare
